Hi i have a 585 CPE LRE is it possible to connect this device to a 2950-XL switch OR a 1900 switch. or i have to buy a LRE switch.

Hi Binoy,
You need to buy/get a LRE (Long Reach Ethernet) switch to use the CPE.

thanks for your input.so if i purchase one 2950-LRE XL, is it possible to connect this particular switch to a normal 2950-XL.using a cross cable.From LRE Ethernet port to normal ethernet port uplink is possible or not.

Hi again!
The LRE switch has two GE port (10/100/1000). With one of this you can connect to a normal switch with crossover cable. If you want to use the LRE side, you need a CPE to "terminate" to a ethernet port. CPE uses xDSL between LRE switch, so that Ethernet and ordinarie Telephone service can run over it.
