I have a question about the capablity of Cisco 6509 switch with 720 sup, does it have firewall capabilities?

Yes.. Sup720 can natively support some firewall features if you are running IOS which has firewall feature set(Advanced enterprise)

6500 can also support FW module/VPN module etc.
