878 via pppoe to fiber possible ?

Hi,

Just got my fiber connection at home, but still have my old 878 cisco router.

Is it possible to use it for making the PPP connection to my provider. ?

I understand i have fa0 - fa3

fa0 will be used for internal interface (have received 8 ip addresses from my provider) and fa3 for the connection to fiber switch.

normaly i configure on fa3 no ip address and on fa0 i would configure the main ip with the subnet. together with the dialer i will get it working.

(done the config on real routers.. 2801)..

do I configure here the main ip on vlan 1 and then just hookup the connection to the switch with fa0 ?

Thoughs are welcome.

will the below config work ?

interface FastEthernet0

You best choice is to get a newer faster router, possibly from the small business or residential.
