try to setup up credentials using:

or

username <username> priviledge 15 password 0 <password>

or

Hi,

Have you configured the vty lines?

example:

line vty 0 4
exec-timeout 60 0
privilege level 15
password 7 0822455D0A16
login local
transport input telnet ssh

Hi,

this is happening with console though. I haven't configured vty line yet since console itself has been giving problems ..

so, this is new router and you are trying to login to it for the first time?

Hi Gavin,

Did u do a write memory on your device after restart and trying to login? Try adding this command on console port and try again:

line console 0

login local
