Hi,
Is there an application or software based process that can tune to a multicast audio stream and listen to it? We provide multicast routing for overhead audio at some of our customer's remote sites, but don't have a way to listen to the audio ourselves. The thought is to subscribe to the multicast at our core and use an application to listen to it and check quality. Audio is output at the remotes via a vif card (VIC3-2E/M). I understand I can set up a router with a card and output to a hardware sound device, but an application seems like a much better option. Any direction on this would be appreciated.

Hello,
I did a search and came across the tool below, not sure if it works with any multicast server, give it a try:

Thanks for suggestion, but that doesn't seem like what I'm looking for. I can get the multicast routing to where I need. It's the listening to it part that I'm trying to resolve.

VideoLAN is a free software and can be used to listen or watch multicast stream.
