ASR-920-4SZ Throughput

Hello,

I was trying trying the throughout of the ASR-920-4SZ router. This router supports Cisco ASR920 Series - 2GE and 4-10GE. We bought the 10G licensing and we are planning on upgrading our internet circuit to 10Gb/s.

Does this this router need any other licensing besides the 10Gb port licensing?

What is the throughput specified for this platform?

Thanks in advance.

The forwarding engine of the ASR 920 is a fixed (non-modular) version of the 64Gbps RSP2 used in the A900 line (902, 903, 907, etc). It will provide wire-speed forwarding for all ports of an ASR 920 with real-world packet sizes.

All ASR900/920 models require an IOS-XE license which is available in one of three levels: Metro Access, Metro IP Access, and Advanced Metro IP Access. Take a look at the A900 IOS-XE data sheet to match up your use-case requirements to the appropriate level, but briefly, Metro Access = basic L2, Metro IP Access = basic L3, while Advanced Metro IP Acess = MPLS:

The 10G license enables SFP+ ports to operate at 1G/10G rather than just at 1G, but does not license the system for XE.
