I have an ASR920 that can't load from USB0. The output shows...

Looks strange here. This could be bug, we are not sure at this stage.
Lets start again, get Fresh Copy from Cisco software download asr920-universalk9_npe.16.12.05.SPA.bin
copy to USB Drive
Turn off the Router
connect the USB
connect the console cable (capute all the boot Logs from start up)
turn on the Router ( use break key to break in to ROMMON)
rommon > dir usb1: or dir usb0: - check the image you can able to see.
> boot usb1:asr920-universalk9_npe.16.12.05.SPA.bin
post the outcome.

Here is the output when booting from USB0: I should note that I couldn't find the specific file you requested on the website, but I have a copy on my network so that is what I used.

I suspect you will ask for the output of the boot up process. So I have anticipated that request and I have the entire process documented in the text file provided. Thank you for all your support so far.

Looks for me, time for TAC case to assists here. Do you have support?
09-17-2021 01:56 PM
Not for this piece of equipment.

how did you come into this problem you planning to upgrade or it crashed you trying to resolve.
how about formating flash? (another thought ? ), since you do not have many options, so need to check how can you resolve them.

This issue came up when I installed the version 17.3.4 and every reload it would load the older IOS. I even set the command "boot system bootflash:asr920-universalk9_npe.17.03.04.SPA.bin" and the system would continue to load the other IOS that was in bootflash. My solution was to delete the other IOS in bootflash and that is when my problems started.
I will look around for a procedure for formatting flash, but what do I need to be aware of if I do so? Can I give the ASR920 an IP address and set up TFTP to put the original IOS back into bootflash?
