Hi!
Is auomonous system belongs to ospf ? what is automonous system ? and I was reading that there are two types of protocols, interior and exterior.
As exterior are used to communicate between two different automonous system, but when we redistribute between two different interior protocols, what exterior protocol is running behind? I mean is BGP running by defualt ?

Dear sulaiman , ospf uses areas and not AS , Your Autonomous system is a collection of IP networks that is under your control. Ebgp is used to estabilish session with another AS that is under someone else control and you will be exchanging routes to eachother. Wehn you perfrom redistribution between two interior protocols the routes that are being residistrubted is called or seen as external routes.for example if you are redist. ospf into eigrp it would seen as Externel EIGRP and will have AD of 170

And no BGP wouldnt run by default unless you actually activate it on the router
