hi

The B/W division about which ur mentioning out here do u want tht to be applicable in ur local lan or the traffic goin out of ur router to either ur HQ or CO ?

if its goin out to ur HQ/CO then u again need to consider the path or wheter ur using ur SP network to reach out the same..

do provide more inputs on ur setup and in which traffic u want to achieve the same..

We have the 2611XM router which we use for site to site VPN and access to Internet. We’d like put something that we can controlling using B/W by application (for example: http has 50% of B/W, ftp 20%, custom app 30%) and by users (for exm.: some user have 20% of B/W for ftp and 40% for http).

We want implement it for Internet traffic generating from inside to outside.

hi

afaik u can hve the b/w policies based on ur applications using CBWFQ in which u will be defining different classes based on the applications being used.need to bind them under ur policy maps and allocate B/W under them accordingly as per ur requirement.

to explore more on the same line do chek up this link ..

We need control using bandwidth per application (http, ftp, remot desktop conn) and/or per user basis on priority or time using when they using Internet connection.

Short answer is yes - you can do it. By app, by IP, whatever.

It sounds like you'll need your favorite flavor of QoS, various access-lists and perhaps NBAR to classify the traffic, bunches of policies, etc. By application is easy. By user (IP) AND by application could get complicated. Would be interesting to see the final config you come up with.
