hi all,
i've encountered a short flap a while ago on one of our BGP router and was searching for a good link explaining the output of 'due to Active open failed' but only find link below, which is not too much info on it.
google is also failing me at this time. could someone explain to me briefly what could've caused this and what does the output in bold is all about? thanks in advance!

did you check the TCP connection?
did you done the L1 connectivity
did you confirm with ISP if they made any chenges?

What type of connection are you using? this could be caused due to wan link flap.

It means that your active connection failed. Since bgp works at layer 3 there are a couple of things to check. It's your interface for bgp up? Or up/down? Another common bgp peer drop is an acl being applied that blocks bgp communications. Also adding a password in bgp will cause this. Typically a bad password message would be in the logs.
