Hello everybody,
I am trying to understand how BGP Route Poisoning works.
"Route poisoning
- When a router selects a neighbor as the best next hop, it makes sure that the neighbor is not pointing
back to the local router; it accomplishes this task by “poisoning” the router
(marking the route unreachable) and sending a withdraw message to that neighbor. "
1) Router A:
Received both updates and select the best path for 200.200.200.0/24 via Router B
2) Route Poisoning:
Router A send a withdraw message about the prefix 200.200.200.0/24 to Router B.
Is it correct?

where does this BGP feature description come from?
I don't believe BGP works this way!
Possibly under some special conditions as discussed here 10 years ago:

It is from SPNGN part 2. The text behind 1) and 2) it was my attempt to explain the process. Thank you for the historical overview 2003

Hi Milan,
You are so right. I was just thinking that I have been contributing to this community for a long time. You have been for even longer. A lot of people on CSC have been around for a long time. I think this adds great value to CSC.
