Hi All,
Can you please let me know if I can configure BGP on a Cisco 3550 switch (WS-C3550-48). It is currently running Version 12.2(44)SE1.
If not, what would be the recommended version in that device?
Appreciate your response.
Cheers

Hi,
Cisco Catalyst WS-C3550-48 with 12.2(44)SE1 IP SERVICES IOS (W/ or W/O ENCRYPTION) can run BGP.
BGP is NOT available in IP BASE.
However, it depends on how you position this device. Do take note that to received full internet BGP route (approximately 200K++ prefixes), you need minimum of 512MB RAM.

Hi Collin,
Thanks for your reply. Can you please let me know where we can find the list of protocols which are supported for a particular IOS release?

You can check either the Feature Navigator-
http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp
or the Software Advisor-
http://tools.cisco.com/Support/Fusion/FusionHome.do
Both require a CCO login.

Thanks for the clarification.
