Hello,

Not sure if other personnel have found the resolution, but here is what I am seeing, and the resolution.

We have multiple - 819 routers, model C819HG-4G-V-K9.

INDICATIONS from the log:

*Mar 3 14:37:26.623: %PLATFORM-4-CELLULAR_MODEM_SKU_MISMATCH: Cellular0: Mismatch detected between installed modem MC7750[SKU ID 1584083] on SKU type C819-4G-LTE-V. Expected modem for this SKU is MC7750[SKU ID 9902144]

When I issue the command show cell 0 all, I am not seeing anything abnormal.

When I look for IP info - show ip int br, IP is not up on the cellular circuit.

RESOLUTION:  Initiate a firmware upgrade on your modem in the 819. Below is an instructional link which can help with this.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/interfaces/software/feature/guide/ehwic-4g-ltesw-book.html

I used the firmware downloaded from the next link below, upgraded the firmware, and now I can get an IP address.  I am not sure if there is a newer firmware download available, but this one worked for me.

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284772061/type/284285628/release/3.5.10.6

As the instructions from the link above tell you to do so, I created a directory (name it what ever you wish) called flash7750 and moved the firmware upgrade file to the new directory.  After TFTPing the file to the new directory, I issued the following command, as per the information in the link above.  We use the command on the directory, not the filename.

microcode reload cellular 0 0 modem-provision flash:/flash7750

1) I am no longer seeing the disparity in the log showing a SKU_MISMATCH.

2) IP is up.

Here is what I see in the firmware upgrade. This takes 5-10 minutes max.

rtr-1001#microcode reload cellular 0 0 modem-provision flash:/flash7750
Reload microcode? [confirm]
Log status of firmware download in router flash system?[confirm]

My reply is late but maybe it will be helpful to somebody. I never succeeded to make a 819g or hg working correctly on cell with an IOS over c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.155-3.M10.bin, regardless if the modem's firmware is 3.5.10.2 from 2012, or 3.5.29.3 from 2014 (the latest one).

If you wanna make that 819 working stable, reload with c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.154-3.M10.bin, re-upgrade (or downgrade) cell with MC7700_ATT_03.05.10.02_00.cwe from Cisco. Than upgrade with 9999999_9999999_9200_03.05.29.03_00_generic_000.000_001_SPKG_MC.cwe obtain from Sierra (package's name is SWI9200M_3.5-Release13-SWI9200X_03.05.29.03.exe), than, upgrade to IOS c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.155-3.M10.bin, and don't expect to upgrade over that.

I can't figure out how IOS until 15.9 was published and no solution to SKU mismatch (models and parts changing depending of IOS version, totally incoherent...) was found unless being stucked to an old IOS, but that the way it is in this universe, maybe different if you go looking somewhere in the multiverse.
