Hi,
Just wanna ask, if after restarting the switch, is it possible the CAM table will be deleted.
After we restarted the switch wherein the firewall and DC servers were connected (done during holiday), the following day we encountered slow internet connection. As per checking with our ISP, no problem with the internet connection.
After about an hour, connections back to normal.
So i am considering the problem was due to re-registration of the MAC address into CAM table.
Please help enlightening me.
Thanks.

Hi yes you would loose the CAM table if the switch is rebooted it will not store the entries there dynamically learned by the switch as devices broadcast there mac address out , the switch then populates the table , there is also a timer even if the switch is not rebooted and if the mac is not in use anymore it will be flushed from the CAM table the default is 5 minutes (300 seconds) , you can see this if you do a show mac address-table aging-time , this can be increased and you can also create static mac entry's if required , static macs are retained after reboot in configuration and CAM table
It would be difficult to say further exactly what the issue was without logs from the devices in question

Dynamically learnt MAC address will be remove after device reboot, if you to hardcode then configure these MAC address as STATIC, but for slow internet connection its shouldn't be MAC registration.
You can use proxy arp:
arp <IP Address> <MAC Address> arpa
Would you please explain how your switch and firewall is connected.
If your swicth is dicertly connected to firewall the point gateway to firewall connected port.
