CCS Router 1000V - Applying License

Hi All,

I have installed the above virtual router. I've also purchased a 3yr subscription 100Mbps license for it, but not sure how to apply my key to the router. It doesn't seem to be the same commands used when applying licences to physical routers.

Anyone done this before?

Hi,

I think you mean the CSR1000v? It is running IOS-XE.

Changing the Maximum Throughput Level

The license must be activated and the EULA accepted before changing the maximum throughput level.

	Command or Action	Purpose
Step 1	enable Example: Router> enable	Enables privileged EXEC mode. •Enter your password if prompted.
Step 2	show platform hardware throughput level Example: Router# show platform hardware throughput level The current throughput level is 50000 kb/s	Displays the current maximum hardware throughput level. Verify the current settings.
Step 3	configure terminal Example: Router# configure terminal	Enters global configuration mode.
Step 4	Cisco IOS XE Release 3.10S and later: platform hardware throughput level MB {10 | 100 | 1000 | 25 | 250 | 50 | 500} Cisco IOS XE Release 3.9S: platform hardware throughput level {10000 | 25000 | 50000 | eval-only} Example: Router(config)# platform hardware throughput level 500	Changes the maximum throughput level for the Cisco CSR 1000V. If you select eval-only, the system will only check the evaluation license. Note In Cisco IOS XE Release 3.9S, the throughput level values are expressed in Kbps.
Step 5	exit Example: Router(config)# exit	Exits configuration mode.
Step 6	show platform hardware throughput level Example: Router# show platform hardware throughput level The current throughput level is 50000 kb/s	Displays the current maximum hardware throughput level. Verify that the maximum throughput level has been updated.

There is also a section on changing the license when the router boots up.
