Hello,
We have a FRF.8 setup that I am curious about getting CDP working on. I was told it cannot be done because of the link management conversion but I wanted to make sure. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Per Cisco
CDP runs on various media that support the SNAP, including LAN, Frame Relay, and ATM media. CDP runs over the data link layer only. Therefore, two systems that support different network-layer protocols can learn about each other.

Thank you for the link. That is good information. Unfortunately, we are still stuck in the same situation. I have cdp running on both the head end (ATM) and the access site (Frame-Relay) sub interfaces but I am not seeing the neighbors on either router. We were thinking the conversion on the carrier's network from ILMI to LMI was affecting the CDP not working. Have you ever heard of that?

I'll be interested to know if there is a solution for this, as in our network, I'm not able to see my neighbours when I have ATM interfaces :(

According to the IOS Feature Navigator, CDP over ATM support was added to IOS 12.2(8)T.
What level of code are you using?

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the link! We are mostly running 12.0(16) on regular 2600 series routers. For testing purposes I am trying to get it working on a 2650XM router running 12.2(17). The other end of the PVC is a 7200 and the 2650 is showing up in that router as a CDP neighbor. I just want to see the 7200 as a neighbor on the 2650. Thanks!
