Is it possible to configure subinterfaces on a Cisco 1811? I have the need to connect a device to an 1811 switch port in say - vlan 200, I also need to add an IP address for this VLAN and use it as the default gateway for other devices in the same VLAN. In order to do this I was thinking along these lines
1.) Connect the device to one of the swtch ports on the 1811 and add the port to vlan 200.
2.) Connect the WAN interface and configure subinterfaces for the VLANs that will be connected to this device. This WAN interface connects to a layer 2 network.
3.) Create a sub-interface to be used as the default gateway for devices in VLAN 200 enable dot1q 200 on the interface.
See the attached network digram as an example.
Is this a valid setup with the 1811 routers?
Any advise would be appreciated.
