Cisco 2801 router not recognizing image on CompactFlash card

I copied the image c2801-entservicesk9-mz.151-4.M7.bin to the compact flash card using a computer, but the 2801 router doesn't recognize it for some reason. It's a 64 MB SimpleTech CF card.

When I took it over to a different router (a Cisco 1841), it had no problems reading the card.

To be sure, I formatted the card in the 1841, and then copied over the image via TFTP to the card again.

I tested the CompactFlash card in two different 2801 routers, and both are having the same issue.

That's the reason why it doesn't work.  The CF card may not be supported on the hardware.

Try looking for a Verbatim 2Gb CF.

I thought all CF cards were supported on Cisco devices, provided that the capacity wasn't too big?

have you tried format it on the router itself ?

I tried formatting it on the Cisco 1841. I couldn't find a way to format it in ROMMON mode on the Cisco 2801. I don't have a CF card that the 2801 recognizes, so I can't boot into the IOS on the 2801 to format it from there.

hola:

Apenas prendas el router Control + Brak:

en Modo:

rommon 1> confreg 0x2102

TFTP_DESTINATION: The flash destination device for the file
flash:(default), usbflash0:

TFTP_DESTINATION: flash:

Ejmplo:

rommon 20 > set
PS1=rommon ! >

TFTP_FILE=c2801-adventerprisek9_ivs-mz.151-4.M8.bin
