Cisco 2921 router with wrong image

Hi

I have a 2921 router with wrong image and it accessed on ROMMON mode and when i enter tftpdnld and i enter the ipaddress, subnet mask, gateway and file name and it keeps on giving me the interface Gig0/0 is showing down do we need on that case a crossover cable

Your router has a CF at the back.

Use a multi-card reader and copy the correct IOS into the CF.  It's that simple.

thanks alot but why the gig interface are showing down and can we do it with a straight cable

Hi raed dabbous,

I think you will to connect here cross cable, because genral rule is:- Router--to--PC= Cross cable and Router---To--Switch= Straight cable.

Yes.  You need a media card reader.
