Cisco 4331 boost limitation

I recently tested a 4331 with an onboard boost license expecting the 2Gb throughput as per documentation. On boot up i noticed this line below. I confirmed the throughput level is set to boost and the license is active and In-Use

*Aug 26 14:51:12.696: %CMLIB-6-THROUGHPUT_VALUE: R0/0: cmand: Throughput license found, throughput set to 14700000 kbps

Router#sh platform hardware throughput level
The current throughput level is unthrottled

IOS version is  16.9.5

I tested on Iperf sending traffic bidirectional and sure enough traffic was approx 900Mb one direction and approx 550Mb the other direction.

Is there anyway to remove this restriction?

Hello Brian,

there used to be the command:

ISR4311(config)#patform hardware throughput level

If that is still available, what opions are there after 'level' ?

Hi Georg,

The boost license came loaded and is enabled in the license and the config as below. I can't see any documentation referring to this 1.47Gbps limit.

Router(config)#platform hardware throughput level ?
100000 throughput in kbps
300000 throughput in kbps
boost Enables unthrottled throughput traffic

Router#sh run | i platform
platform qfp utilization monitor load 80
no platform punt-keepalive disable-kernel-core
platform hardware throughput level boost

Period left: Life time
License Type: Permanent
License State: Active, In Use
License Count: Non-Counted
License Priority: Medium

Hello,

odd indeed. Can you use the command and configure a lower value, reboot the router, than change it back to 'level boost' and reboot the router again ?

Can you post - show version (complete output)

Hi Balaji

As Below,

Georg tried your suggestion as well to reset back to 100000 and then then re-enabling to Boost. Still getting this output on boot:

Hello,

since you are running 16.9.5, the problem might be smart licensing, which I think is obligatory since 16.9.1. Try and enable that:
