Hi all,

i am doing a lab in GNS3 using 7200 ios Version 15.2(4)M7 and also have Version 12.4(24)T8, i wants to use IKev2

but i am unable to issue the command

crypto ikev2 proposal default
encryption des
integrity md5
group 1

i am able to use this command on cisco 2911 router. i have tried this command on real device as well but still i get the following error.

R1(config)#crypto ikev2 proposal default
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

so question from all of the guys here does it supports IKEv2 or not ?

or what alternative i can use for it?

i am afraid 7200 images GSN3 support that feature you looking, but i suggest (tested) either use the latest IOL  image is 15.4.X  or use CSR1000v

Hi Balaji,

thanks for your reply

i have version 15 and i have tested it both at Gns3 as well as at device itself. so is there any suggestion how we can use ikev2 on it as i dont want to use ikev1.

Hello,

you need vios-adventerprisek9-m.vmdk.SPA.156-2.T, which is a Cisco VIRL version. It is not free, you have to get a subscription to VIRL. There currently is no free image available for GNS3 that supports IKEv2 for the 7200 appliance.

hi George,

thanks for your reply

so what we have to do for real device?

what is the alternative for VXR 7206 to use IKev2?

Try the version attached.

dear georg,

thanks for your reply

i have tested this image and i get this error.

this may be gns3 setting issue or something else and i will try to check it.
