Cisco 800 series router and FEC

I have branch stores that are using the c881 router. We're running voip over them but some of the connection have some packet lost on the provider side.

Does anyone know if this series router supports FEC and can someone point me to a doc to configure it.

Thanks,

Brent

If you are talking about FECN (forward explicit congestion notification)then that won't help too much. It would only slow down the traffic after you've already lost packets. You'd be better off doing CB Shaping on your end with priority for the voice. You may be able to use auto qos voip command if you are not familiar with MQC QoS.

No, he means Forward Error Correction for 3G wireless networks. I could not find an answer for this neither, beside it's necessary that the provider supports it as well, thing that is not assumed.

Yes I meant forward error correction I should have thrown that out there.

Turns out it doesn't because I can't do any channel-group commands or anything like that.

Thanks guys.

Brent

No, I don't think has to do with channel groups. It appear FEC for 3G has been standardized only recently, and may require licensing from the developers, so probably a question appropriate for a Cisco PM.
