Cisco 876 - CPU load

Hi,

I just connected a 876 router to a VDSL modem (50mbits down / 10 mbits up).

I noticed the download upload rate was not even half of what should be possible.

So I called the ISP but then realized I should check the router cpu history first.

As soon as I download a test file (FTP)  the load on the 876 router goes crazy, like 80% to 100%. And I can reach a maximum of 30Mbits down.

When I upload a file the load is like 10% but I can only get 1 mbits upload speed.

Is there something wrong with the router? Is it not made for VDSL speed?

I replaced the 876 with an 892W router and everything works fine now. I guess 876 processor doesn't have enough power to handle VDSL.

Check router configuration, oy may have useless commands like inspection and firewall slowing it down.
