Cisco 887 lic file

Hello to all,

I need your help.

I have just bought a new 887va-k9  and advanced IP license.

When i try to install from tftp the lic file the message of socket error appears and cannot copy the file.

What i am doing wrong?

I follow all the instructions Cisco sends with lic file but nothing happened.

I shutdown the firewall, i have made portforward 69 port of tftp the same error.

Any advice?

where are you doing this from on the LAN or across the WAN
turn off any fw on the pc too , make sure you can ping the vlan 1 ip address or whatever vlan the port is under , make sure PC is on same subnet

post the error your seeing

Once reach ability id there the TFTP should work unless something along path s blocking it , try FTP too
3C daemon gives good logs for failures if your using that software for the TFTP

I have no forward...I cannot ping either.
Eth0 is UP VLAN is 1 as i checked from console.

hi
if you cant ping there will be no TFTP transfer ,you need to fix that first as there is no network layer to transfer across

forward not required all you require is connectivity
vlan 1 is up , thats good
put a laptop directly on the local switch , give it an IP address on vlan 1, same subnet etc and make sure you can ping from the laptop to the switch vlan 1 interface
then when thats working the TFTP transfer should work fine

The problem waw with tftp...I changed with SolarWinds and it worked.But
after i take the message attached.Any help?
