Hi.
I have one Cisco ISR 4321.
This is a brand new router and I am the first owner.
I have encountered the following fault since the first start up:
It keeps restarting at random intervals. Sometimes after 10 minutes but sometimes it lasts for 2 hours.
The room it's in is 23 degrees Celsius, I don't think it overheats.
Every time it restarts it says : Last reset cause: Unrecoverable Error
What could be the problem ?
09-11-2024 11:45 PM
Ur Cisco ISR 4321 restarting with the error "Last reset cause: Unrecoverable Error" could be due to a hardware or software issue. I would check the power and connections. Also try and update IOS. Then use #show log. And a very important step it is to monitor temperature with command: sh envir all.

I checked the sh envir all command and all values were normal. The cpu was 40 degrees Celsius.
As I am an individual and have no company or organisation associated with me, I cannot download another image file.
Is there any way to download a new image file from the official site as a private person ?

Nothing wrong with the bootup.
Please post the complete output to the following command:
sh logging onboard uptime
09-23-2024 03:18 AM
Hello @zacharzsolt ,
from the output you have posted the router has some issues with two SPA modules the one for ISDN BRI and the one with telephony ports FXS ports but at the end it recovers also these two sub modules and their ports.
Hope to help

If you get new image and this boot after use it then it OK, the up down of interfaces is used by router as self check.

Hello @zacharzsolt ,
I made a bug search for ISR 4000 with seach string "Unrecoverable Error" and I didn't find any public available bug.
Changing the IOS version is something you can do to see if anything changes.
Otherwise if you have a valid contract you can ask for RMA that is hardware substituition.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
09-12-2024 09:57 AM
I am a private person and I bought the router from another private person in unopened packaging. So I don't know how to resolve the RMA.
09-12-2024 10:30 AM
Ask person you buy this router from him
Ask image, İ think he have contract with cisco
MHM
09-12-2024 11:09 AM
Unfortunately, he was just selling them. He had no knowledge of the subject, which is why I managed to buy them cheaply, along with many other things.
I bought it just to learn on it, but it's hard to learn if it doesn't work..
09-12-2024 04:01 AM
There is no valid image found to use for booting
Only add image to router and it will be boot
MHM
09-12-2024 04:32 AM
Did the router boot to the OS or ROMMON?
