Hi guys, i'm new to networking and just want to upgrade the old router on my branch. As i read ISR 4321 documentation it states that 50Mbps-100Mbps system throughput.

  1. Does it means that if i have 1Gbps internet capability from ISP, with default license i can only utilise 100 Mbps internet traffic ?
  2. Do ISR-4321 capable of handle internet traffic of 1Gbps (2 WAN with each 1Gbps) ?
  3. If so what license do i need to utilise it with SD-WAN also.

Many thanks

Hi,

You can go with Cisco ISR 4451 or 4461 with Performance license.

1. Depends on the license and firmware. Post the complete output to the command "sh license feature".
2. No way.

Hi Leo, i'm planning for a new router o my site which is using Mikro*** right now, the site have a broadband connection of 1 Gbps and planning on having additional provider for backup conn. Which type do you suggest for handling such traffic ?

A minimum of 2 x 1 Gbps ports? I'd go for the ASR 1001X with 5 Gbps license pack.
NOTE: I strongly recommended upgrading the DRAM all the way to the eyeballs.
