Hi

that tool is legacy now , the new tool is the cisco CLi analyser found in link below

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/web/tools-catalog.html

This is so frustrating.  Cisco -had- a tool that would help me analyze error messages from my log files but that tool has gone away and is replaced by a new piece of software.  But I don't have admin privelages on my work PC, so I can't install this new software.  I put it on my home PC but my home PC can't connect to my ASA (it's not on my work network).  And I can't find an error message analyzer in this new tool.

This is very disapointing.  It would have been nice if you'd rolled out the new tool along side the old tool and given us the chance to show how much we do or don't like the new tool.  Instead, you've removed the best tool I had for this type of trouble shooting.  Not a good call, Cisco.

Agreed. I don't need something to replace an ssh client (even if it does have bunch of cisco tools incorporated). I need the error messages I'm getting in production gear analysed, and I need it done ASAP. The sorts of environments that are going to be needing this stuff are generally going to be under strict IT controls that aren't going to allow users to just install this software without jumping through hoops, and when it's a tool that's dealing with secure protocols and accessing critical infrastructure, those hoops are not insignificant.

Just give me something I can cut&paste into. No need to reinvent the wheel, especially when you're not actually making it any better at performing wheel-related activities.

Precisely why we replace Cisco at every opportunity.  ASA has been replaced with Fortigate NGFW.  WLC replaced with Fortinet Meru.  First L2 closet will soon be replaced with https://cumulusnetworks.com/ running on https://www.edge-core.com/ hardware.  Cisco support is absurdly expensive and has gone into the toilet over the years.
