Config auto deleted Cisco 1900

As my exam is in 3 days its vital we find out how to fix this

So basicly when we configure a router and Reboot it, it will erase everything and yes we did copy run start

When we first got one of the routers we did a “fix” because it was password protected from the previous exam students. We switched out the config file and told it to boot on something else but now we can seem to get it back to boot on the configuration file

So how do we do that:(
