Hello,
I have 7600 with RSP720-CXL. If I put in linecard with BXL-DFC whole chassis will drop to BXL functionality.
But what is the difference? BXL and CXL has equal TCAM. What functionilty could I loose?
Regards,
A.

Hello Antonio,
the only reference I have found is the Q&A about PFC, DFC and CFC
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_qanda_item09186a00809a7673.shtml
I cannot find the respective datasheets of DFC 3BXL and DFC 3CXL for making the comparison that you are suggesting.
If I'm not wrong The C generation of DFC3 came out with VSS, so I would expect CXL to have the VSS features and the BXL to have not.
A. There is no restriction from the VSS to use DFC3C / DFC3CXL. Similar to normal switch requirements, either line cards with DFC3C/CXL can be used, or only the CFC can be used.
Note that the 8-port 10G card (WS-X6708-10G-3C/XL) must have a DFC installed for it to be operational.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
