I'm looking at terminating multiple E1s on a router, probably on a 7200. I can't see much difference in data capability of the two cards - PA-MCX-8TE1 and PA-MC-8TE1+.

Can someone highlighten me please.

One difference I know of is that the PA-MC-8TE1+ provides up to 256 channels, as compared to a maximum of 128 for the PA-MCX-8TE1

This allows for full channelization (down to the DS0 rate) for both T1 and E1 WAN links.

Hope this helps,

Hello,

Mix-Enabled T1/E1 Port Adapter for Cisco 7200VXR Series Routers:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps2033/prod_brochure09186a008007d45f.html

The MIX-enabled T1/E1 port adapter provides the ability to integrate voice and data on the same T1/E1 interface without the need for an external time-division multiplexing (TDM) device. With the "drop and insert" capability, DS0-level grooming is supported, thus providing cost-effective WAN access. Ports can be configured for voice, data, or both, depending on the application requirements.
