DMVPN over OSPF stub area

Hello everybody.

I´m running a simulation with dmvpn over ospf, the hub supports the interarea stub no-summary with the spokes and have a connection with the core area 0 (intra-area). The problem that I have is that I can´t ping from a router intra-area to a spoke router inter-area despite knowing the routes and having a default route in the stub area.

Does any body know what is happening here??

Hi,

Can you perhaps show us the topology of your simulation, the individual configurations, the actual routing table contents and the pings that are not working? Your description is very concise and unfortunately, I am not sure I fully understand how your network is set up.

It's always best to see the full state of things, and a practical demonstration of what's not working. Let's start from there.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Peter

Hello,

DMVPN over OSPF can be tricky. The following link helped me out a bit:

https://www.fryguy.net/2011/08/04/dmvpn-and-routing-protocols-ospf/

Some key items to take note with DMVPN over OSPF:

1. Hub and Spokes should be configured as point-to-multipoint

2. Spokes should be stubbed or totally stubbed

3. The Hub should be the DR and spokes BDR

4. mGRE on Hub should be configured as an OSPF broadcast network

If still having issues, I recommend posting a bit of your configs if possible.

Hope this helps.
