Hi,

I tried configuring E3 by dividing it into 16 channels and then multilinking. is there any way to configure it as single E3. One of my friends suggested 'no channelized' under controller e3. But it is not supported in the IOS. I am using Cisco 7609 with sup720 and IOS 12.2(17d)SXB6.

Hi,

As far as i have known, there is no way to use ch.E3 as single E3. 16 E1s are preconfigured, you will see this when you give a "show controller E3". You have to use PA-E3 instead of PA-MC-E3.

These are the only commands available under controller e3

Controller configuration commands:

clock Specify the clock source for an E3 interface

default Set a command to its defaults

description Controller specific description

e1 E1 line configuration

exit Exit from controller configuration mode

help Description of the interactive help system

idle Specify the idle pattern all channels on an E3 interface

loopback Put the entire E3 line into loopback

national Specify the national bit setting for an E3 interface

no Negate a command or set its defaults

shutdown Shut down an E3 interface (send Blue Alarm)

CR7609(config-controller)#no ?
