eBGP Path Selection by Customer Source IP address

Hi,

I have a case, customer is a data center owner and they will resell their rack and bandwidth tenants. The topology is in attachment.

They want to control path selection criteria by DC customer sources IP address. For example, customer A pay more and will route via premium circuit ISP-B, customer B pay less and route via normal circuit ISP-C.

They are some solutions like Multiple HSRP + IGP cost tunning or PBR but these solution will make DC operation team more complex. Instead I would like to study if any BGP based features on ASR9K (e.g. QPPB or community tunning) can be solutions?

Any experts can comments?

Thanks

Leon Lai

You can create ACL or prefix list to match customer specific IP. Then creater Route-map, match those ACL or prefix list and set the policy that you wanterd to apply.

For ex: Your customer is using IP 1.1.1.1/30.

Prefix list - 1.1.1.1/30

Route-map sample

match ip address

set local-pref 1000

router bgp.

neighbour route-map sample in

If you need to manipulate incomin trafic, then you can use AS-PREPEND, or communities.....
