I am getting the following error message on our 10700 router:
%SYS-2-MALLOCFAIL: Memory allocation of 276 bytes failed from 0x50314770, alignment 32
Pool: I/O Free: 60224 Cause: Memory fragmentation
Alternate Pool: None Free: 0 Cause: No Alternate pool
-Process= "Net Background", ipl= 0, pid= 27

I've read that this could be a bug or I just need to update the IOS on this router. Any advice? System image file is "flash:c10700-p-mz.120-30.S.bin"
Thanks in advance.

Reloading the router could also solve the issue, but if the you notice the message again, you may need to upgrade IOS or replace the router.

Thanks for the assistance. I'll upgrade the IOS and reload the router. Hopefully this will take care of the issue.
