Dear All,
Is it possible to traffic shape Frame Relay PVCs that are switched between interfaces.
I have a router with Frame Relay PVCs that bother terminate on an interface and others taht are switched throughto another interface. We have shaped the PVCs that are terminated on sub-interfaces. But is it possible to traffic shape the PVCs that are switched through the router.
The router is running IOS 12.2 and is a 3660
Thanks
Tom

Your question is really interesting. I have not tried such a scenario practically, but I feel shaping should still work since handling Frame-relay traffic should be same irrespective of whether the PVCs are terminated or switched.

Unfortunatly it doesnt appear so. We had enabled a FR Traffic Shaping Map-Class under the main HSSI interface where the switching commands are and it didnt seem to shape the PVCs.
If I do a "show frame-relay pvc2 for any of the switched PVCs there is no information about the shaping configured.
Also if the switched PVCs have different CIR/EIR rates how do I apply different policies to each PVC.
