GRE tunnel and ssh

This might be a dumb question but I just noticed something with a gre tunnel

Brought up a new gre tunnel src 10.0.1.1 dst 10.0.1.2

tunnels stable I can ping the dst address from the source on both sides.  Why can’t I ssh to those addresses across the tunnel?  Just times out. Hadn’t debugged, was just thinking about it and realized I’m a little perplexed.

Config LO advertise it via GRE tunnel and use it to access router through ssh.

So expected behavior then?   Guess I never really noticed.

Yes I see same issue before' we can not use tunnel IP to access router.

Now SSH work?

Yup that was it. Hadn’t realized you can’t use tunnel Ip to access router. Thanks as always.
