How does RV042g handle VLAN-tagged packets from WAN side? Is it VDSL capable?

Hello everybody,

We've got the RV042g, and we want to use it as gateway (DHCP via Win Server Domain) connecting to the internet via VDSL (Allnet 126AS2 in modem mode). To have the router dial up via PPPoE, the modem has to be connected to one of the WAN ports (?).

VDSL is a standard that uses VLAN tagged packets (my provider seems to use VLAN ID 7), so my question is, if the router is able to automatically handle these VLAN tagged packets over WAN side?

We do not use any VLANs in our LAN side Network (VLAN ID of all LAN ports in use is set to "1" by standard), so would i have to set all my LAN side switches to VLAN ID 7 to be able to connect to the internet via that VDSL modem?

Thank you for any helping hints and clues,

felix
