Hi, I'm doing some testing with HSRP. It's working very well when I shut down interfaces but I wanted to test it on Link State (Protocol) level as well. Does enyone know how I can bring link state (protocol) layer down but keep physical (Status) up?

hi Pawel,
yes we are all aware that gns3 is using real IOS. but what Soroush trying to say is that you are "simulating" a real network problem, which the variable will be diffrent on the real network.
perhaps you can give your hsrp config, and we can try to review it together.
as per production network, i think you can ask for downtime (maintenance time) for testing your HSRP configuration, this way is easier.

Don't worry. I will ask for some downtime and test in in production. Thanks for info.
