Hi,

I have a Cisco 890 Router. But I lost the setup CD/DVD to configure my Cisco 890. Can somebody tell me
how I can access the webinterface or setup from this router. Or can I somewhere download the software?

Thx

Hi,

I downloaded the lastest file of CCP. I'm a beginner so what do I use to get the files on the router?

:-)

Hi

I think this link has a very good explanation:

Thx,

but am stuck a community section. They show me something with a CMD window and alot of info like ip and so. But I cannot access the router for that information. I already reset the router

Hello,

I have not followed the entire thread, but have you tried to access the router with a console cable (the blue cable, if you have that) instead of the web interface ?

Hi,

I have a console cable its a version with a Usb for the pc and RJ45 connector on the other side

I don't know if that works. Try and connect that to the router console port (I think you have to use the USB port on the router and the RJ-45 for your PC).

You can then use Hyper Terminal to configure the router:

https://communities.cisco.com/thread/63656?start=0&tstart=0

No its Usb on the pc and the RJ45 console input on the router. I have Putty. My Usb Serial port is on COM1. It opens a window and stands still with a green square. Do I have to wait till it repsond?

Hello,

try a different COM port. Green square usually means you have the wrong COM port. Do you have the COM port configured with the settings Speed 9600 Data Bits 8 Stop Bits 1 Flow Control/Parity None ?

Hi

I changed the COM port to 4 our 5. Still the same problem. The setting are like you said

That's the router I have. I resetted the hole thing

Hello,

what happens when you restart the router with the console port connected to your PC ? Do you see any output at all ?

Hi,

nothing happens. I don't understand it. I also tryed a DB9 to RJ45 console cable. Same result
