Hi Everybody,
My customer has installed a 3825 ISR with this characteristics:
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.3(11r)T2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
System image file is "flash:c3825-adventerprisek9-mz.124-4.T4.bin"
Cisco 3825 (revision 1.0) with 222208K/39936K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID FTX0949A01V
2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
4 Serial(sync/async) interfaces
1 ATM interface
1 Channelized E1/PRI port
1 Virtual Private Network (VPN) Module
4 Voice FXS interfaces
DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity enabled.
479K bytes of NVRAM.
62720K bytes of ATA System CompactFlash (Read/Write)
As you can see it has 1 NM-1A-E3 and they want to install new one in the other slot available but we are not sure if that is possible. i mean, a router 3825 ISR can support 2 NM-1A-E3?
We checked datasheet but the info is no really clear.

Should be possible, of course being an access router depending on features enabled the CPU may be stressed a bit, better would be to use two independent routers, or one bigger 3845.
Hope this helps, please rate all useful posts!

Hello,
Only one module is recommended to use in a 3825 router chassis. Please see the link below:

HTH,Please rate if it does.

Thanks Amit. It is a little bit of a peculiar datasheet as it doesn't mention a "supported" maximum number, rather just a "recommended" number. And I agree with this recommendation.
Anyway, the online configuration tool allows two modules in a 3725.
