Hi All,

Sure this is a simple one. New to the 1900 series routers, have a 1921 with IOS 15.1. Noticed that there is a standard interface labeled Embedded-Service-Engine0/0. Can anyone advise what the purpose of this is? Cannot seem to find any detail on it. See extract from default config below.

interface Embedded-Service-Engine0/0
no ip address
no ip route-cache
shutdown

Hello, I got the router working but am dealing with a different issue now. the LAN had two other Sonicwall FW attached to that Cisco 3550 which was replaced. now they want then to connect to the one Ethernnet poet that I have left on this Cisco 2911 router but using same Subnet! which is impossible. I need a Imaginable Switch to do that. My question is this:

1- can I create VFRs for the Second and third Sonic walls connection on this router but use the same subnet as I have on the main LAN connection?

I don;t think so m but I wanted to be positive when I tell them that tis cannot be done with a router and needs to Switch.

Best Regards,

Masood
