Hi Friends,
I have a problem.
My team has installed a 1905 series router at one of our offices.
It has been connected through lease line to our servers at our head quarters.
Problem is - When we start internet access it slows down and subsequently it hangs.
When we log into the router and start verifying its configuration it hangs after some time.
We have replaced the router but the other router is also behaving in the same way.
Please suggest the possible areas and settings I should look into including lease line connectivity.
Please help its urgent.
Let me know if any more clarifications is required.

Can you try executing a trace route command with the destination IP?
This might help you to get an idea as to where exactly the issue is.

Hi,
How the internet traffic pass thru (thru router --> T1--> Server DC--> internet?). Also, you log on to the router via T1 to
verify the config? if yes, then you may need to check the T1.

Hi Deepthi,
Thanks....but we have already done the tracing of the route....trace route is showing the complete path to destination IP.
Trace route and Ping , both are showing the complete path and reply from destination IP.
We have even done the reverse tracing from our site router to our servers at head quarters . It is also showing the successful path.

HI mvsheik123,
Thansk for the reply.
I'm not that technically sound person but I think DC is a concept of windows server and our servers are on linux platform.
Please elaborate more on your post.

Hi Mahendra,
DC- Data Center. What I was asking is the internet traffic from the client and your access to router goes via same T1
or different paths?
Thanks

Hi mvsheik123,
Both the traffics goes through same T1. This is the main issue. We are not able to trace the exact problematic point .
Thanks

Check load on interfaces, just to be sure there is traffic suddenly coming IN or OUT and causing congestion.

Hi Samir,
Thanks. Can u please specify what exactly should be the count for ideal case....or there is any range for input or output bytes for proper working of router..?
Thanks

In below example, load is 4/255 , a fully loaded interface would be 255/255. This would also cause drops on the port which you can see under same comand.
TenGigabitEthernet2/3 is up, line protocol is up (connected)
Hardware is C6k 10000Mb 802.3, address is 0015.6350.3fc0 (bia 0015.6350.3fc0)
Description: ### dk-alt-ti1cr1:TE2/3 ###
Internet address is 188.228.0.8/31
MTU 9216 bytes, BW 10000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 10/255, rxload 4/255
Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set

Hi Samir,
Following are the server load details---
Serial0/0/0 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is WIC MBRD Serial
Internet address is 172.31.228.105/30
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 2048 Kbit/sec, DLY 20000 usec,
reliability 252/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation PPP, LCP Open
Stopped: CDPCP
Open: IPCP, loopback not set Serial0/0/0 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is WIC MBRD Serial
Internet address is 172.31.228.105/30
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 2048 Kbit/sec, DLY 20000 usec,
reliability 252/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation PPP, LCP Open
Stopped: CDPCP

I don't think there is problem of congestion at the interface.
Thanks

Few things you can check..
1. When you experience the issue, check the both ends of T1 interface for any errors. Also, I guess the routers have WIC cards- check the controller T1 stats.
2. Run an extended ping test between both T1 end points.See if you are loosing any packets.
3. How you are measuring the traffic- do you have any monitoring tool or just by looking at interfaces? Try setting
the load interval on both sides of the interace to 30.
Thanks

Hi Mahendra,
You might wana check with your ISP on this issue. It looks like a symptom of a blacklisting of IP to me.
You can also check your IP using this URL:
