Within each version of IOS Cisco produces various feature sets. The feature set indicates which features and functions are supported in that image. Advanced IP Services is one of the feature sets. I used the feature navigator on CCO to compare Advanced IP Services and the IP BASE feature sets. There are many features in Advanced IP Services that are not in the BASE. Among the features in Advanced IP Services but not in BASE are these: support for BGP routing protocol, support for AES (Advanced Encryption Services), support for Call Manager Express, support for IOS Telephony services, support for Easy VPN, support for IP SLA, support for IPSec VPN tunnels, support for IS-IS routing protocol, support for Mobile IP, support for MPLS, support for SIP, and support for many IPv6 functions.
