iOS Question on 2901 - Can it do BGP?

Hello,

I'm going to configure an upcoming 2901 router, it has "flash0:c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.150-1.M5.bin" currently loaded on it.

My question is, does this have full BGP capabilities? I didn't see any ip-services listed under the software section.

Or if you could point me to some documentation, that would be great as well.

Thank you!!

Hi

On ISR images, for IOS services, there was no ip-services vs adv-ent-services.

The IOS image was same but to get some feature you had to buy a license. There were 3 different services (Data, security, UC). However lot of basic stuff was included in the default version (IP BASE) without any addon services activation.

Now regarding your question, BGP is integrated on IP BASE version without additional license requirement. You can check on Cisco IOS Features web site. I've attached the result of the standard universal image compared to the same image with data licenses.

You'll see in the common features chapter that BGP is part of the base image.

Thanks
