We have a shared office space in University. We would like to have a backup connectivity for internet and primary MPLS. Our demarc is located at ground floor and the shared space is located on 5th floor. We have cat3 cable terminated on the 4th floor from demarc. I was planning to extend cat3 to extend it further to our shared office space that is loacted at 5th floor but the distance is more than 300 feet. Can I add a repeater that would enhance the signal and extend cat6 from 4th floor to 5th floor to our shared office space. I would like to know if design is feasible at all. I know cat3 has 2 pairs and can support a distance of 300 feet and 10Meg of bandwidth but here I am fine with specs. I just want to know if this design is possible at all. Thanks in advance.
