IP Multicast Routing

Hi

I have a application whose components are talking to each other via one multicast address 235.19.4.10.

This application is running on two different IP Subnets 192.168.121.0/24 and 192.168.99.0/24. It must be required that these two IP Subnets must not see each other thus they are configured on two different VLANs.

Now we have a requirement where this application need to be installed on Remote Sites where Routers will be used to provide the connectivity.

The problem I am facing is that if I will configure the Remote Sites with some other IP Subnets e.g. 192.168.1.0/24 than Networks are unable to talk to each other even Multicast Routing is configured on Routers.

Now at least as per my requirement, I need two seperate subnets need to be configured on remote sites where one subnet will communicate with Subnet 192.168.121.0/24 and other subnet will communicate with 192.168.99.0/24.

Can anyone suggest any possible solution.

Thanks in advance for help.

With Best Regards

Hi Mansoor,

If you requirement is to have complete isolations between subnets, then you can use VRF lite to accomplish it.  With VRF, you will have complete separate routing tables and multiple VRFs will not talk to each other unless you leak them together. You just have to make sure your IOS support it.
