Hi all,

I am working for a medium ISP, and we are looking for a new QoS solution for our enterprise customers, Can anyone give me any idea?

Here is the requirement:

1. more than 1000 customers (almost half PPPoE and half UFB-Ultra-Fast Broadband which will be static IP address /30)

2. Each customer will have a CIR and PIR

3. QoS based on customer's IP address

4. There are about 20 different CIR and PIR plans for different customers

5. 2 main Internet border router (primary and secondary)

6. QoS will provision in the Internet interface which face our upstreams

Please give me your ISP QoS solution and tell me the solution details  and devices module to achieve it.

Cisco is not necessary, you can give me any brand devices you need.

Many thanks

James

Yay - you are using DHCP for provisioning UFB clients?

The SCE8000 would have been perfect for what you need, allowing per subscriber bandwidth controls - but it has been EOL'd.  Bummer.

Take a look at this thread where I talk about using qos-groups and rate-limits.  It might give you some ideas.

Thank you Philip, but most of our customers are not PPPoE users, they are connectiong us via ethernet or fibre, so I can not do the radius QoS on them.

In a Cisco world, I think you can only do this in a cost effective manner on the point where the customer connects to your network, rather than on upstream connection points.

For example, if the customer is delivered as a QinQ style connection, then you put your policing/shaping on that interface at that point.  You can then give each person different amounts of bandwidths.

Thank you Philip very much.  You are right, SCE8000 and SCE 10000 are what I need now. I will take a look at it.
