Issues with Throughput license not activating on ISR4321

Hi Guys,

I feel like one needs a degree to navigate the new IOS-XE licensing, it just should not be this hard.

I have recently purchased a throughput license for an ISR4321 Router, which boost WAN throughput from 50Mbps to 100Mbps. This was due to upgrading out Fibre to 100Mbps. I converted to a license file, TFTP'd onto the router, installed the license, rebooted router and everything seemed just peachy.

Was only getting 46-47Mbps throughput. At first I blamed the ISP, but after testing directly from their hand off point (before the ISR4321) I can confirm we are getting 100Mbps. The router is holding us back, even though it had the new license installed.

Upon checking Show License All, I found the Throughput license is listed as "Active, Not In Use". This where I am stuck. I have read through a good amount of Cisco documentation on the matter and cant see any way to apply/activate this license to the router will actually start doing 100mb throughput. I've seen mentions of accepting EULA's which has been done, countless reloads, trawled through the entire license set and tried to set priority on this license but nothing has helped.

Does anyone have any idea what I am missing here?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hayden

Hi Georg,

Thanks very much for getting back to me, you hit the nail on the head. I've now got a lovely 100mb throughput.

I had a feeling there was a command I was missing somewhere that would put the router into high bandwidth mode, but I saw no mention of this command in any of the licensing documentation. You would think they would group info on activating these licenses a little more logically.

Thanks again,
Hayden
