hi all
i have a 2500 router at H.O & one 1721 at my branch, both are connected point to point 64k leased line.
when i transfer files it takes 1 hour to transfer 30MB data.is it a good data rate

Hello Binoy,
1 hour for 30MB over a 64K line sounds ok, check this link, it has a calculator for transfer speeds:
File download speeds
Calculate download times or maximum file sizes.

According to this calculator, it should take 78 minutes for the 30MB transfer...

Binoy,
30MB = 30 *1024 * 1024 * 8 bits = 251658240 bits
Your line speed is 64000 bits / sec.
Time taken to transfer that many bits (ideally, neglecting serialization delays, propagation delays etc).
Time taken = 251658240 / 64000 = 3932.16 seconds
3932.16 seconds / 3600 = 1.09 hours.
Sounds about right.
