layers 1 and 2 aren't working on this link. you need to troubleshoot those

layers.

so ,, how can troubleshooting that ??? i mean how i can up it ???

If it's a link to a provider it's most likely on their end. You can call and ask them to help troubleshoot. You may want to check your smart jack first. If it's all green, then it's probably the cable from the smart jack to your router. If there are amber or red lights on the smart jack, then it's the carriers issue and you should call them.

check your cable connection and router config.

Dear look    GigabitEthernet2/1/0 is down, line protocol is down   Hardware is SPA-10X1GE-V2, address is b414.8904.1a90 (bia b414.8904.1a90)   MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1000000 Kbit/sec, DLY 10 usec,      reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255   Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set   Keepalive not supported   Full Duplex, 1000Mbps, link type is auto, media type is 1000BaseBX10U   output flow-control is on, input flow-control is on   ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00   Last input never, output never, output hang never   Last clearing of "show interface" counters never   Input queue: 0/375/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0   Queueing strategy: fifo   Output queue: 0/40 (size/max)   5 minute input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec   5 minute output rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec      0 packets input, 0 bytes, 0 no buffer      Received 0 broadcasts (0 IP multicasts)      0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles      0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored      0 watchdog, 0 multicast, 0 pause input      0 packets output, 0 bytes, 0 underruns      0 output errors, 0 collisions, 1 interface resets      0 unknown protocol drops      0 babbles, 0 late collision, 0 deferred      0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier, 0 pause output      0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out    so where the problem ????

any help please ????

Collin and John did provide help but we have not seen you reply with what you did.

Did you contact the provider to see if the circuit is working?

Did you check the smart jack for light indicating a problem?

Did you check the lights on the router to see what they indicate?

Did you check the cable connection to make sure it is correct?

Also make sure the interface is not shutdown?

By what you posted no traffic has passed through that interface since the router was last rebooted.

Post the SHOW RUN and SHOW VER

Mike

dear ... i just need to make the line protocol up and the interface ..... i sure the interface no shutdown  .... i use GIPC 1000base SX  ..... the version for router  isco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software (PPC_LINUX_IOSD-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.2(33)XNF2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Hi ,

You might try reverse the two fiber cables (component of the fiber patch) that connects to the SFP module, between them (RX and TX).

Dan

dear dan ... i also try that but that not effected .. i test the fiber cable and the SFB to another Switch  Cisco linksys it work fine .... so where the problem u think ???

Based on this line

GigabitEthernet2/1/0 is down, line protocol is down

The issue starts at Layer 1 the physcial layer. So something physically is wrong. Cable, SPF module, etc.

If it would have said GigabitEthernet2/1/0 is up, line protocol is down

then Layer 1 would have been good and we would look at somthing else like encapsulation and such.

So to find the porblem you need to look at everything physical also make sure the interface is not shutdown and it is configured properly. Also check what the interface is connect to, there could be something wrong on that end as well.

Mike

dear thank you very much for u'r help .. but u think the SPF model  (  GIPC 1000base SX )  not supported  the interface hardware SPA-10X1GE-V2 ... cisco router 1006 ... if not supported , can tell my which SPF model support the   interface hardware SPA-10X1GE-V2 ... cisco router 1006  ... i sure the cable work fine ...  regards ....   the version for router  isco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software (PPC_LINUX_IOSD-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.2(33)XNF2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)        dear can continue with you via messenger ???

I am not sure what is or is not supported in that. If you have a service contract with that you could open a TAC case.

Mike

dear .. can u tell my how i can open TAC case please ??????
